I'm using the mutter-vrr patch on Gnome, which caused horrific lag. Adding the lines
<application name="Wartales.exe" executable="Wartales.exe">
<option name="adaptive_sync" value="false" />
</application>
to the generic device section of the mesa workaround file (usr/share/drirc.d/00-mesa-defaults.conf) resolved the issue.
Performance:Slight Performance Problems

Overall (online):Good
Weird desyncs and other buggy interactions in the multiplayer but not related to proton I think but to the game buggy nature itself.
