6.5-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Steam input didn't work for my ps5 controller, dropping back to 6.5-GE-2 and disabling steam input for some reason lets it work, changing to a newer version or turning steam input on gives me no controller support.
Aside from controller support Proton Experimental and Proton 6.3.7 also worked, 6.5-GE-2 was the only one I could get the controller to work in though.
Proton-GE-CVA-FIX GloriousEggroll
Needed to create a small patch to bypass file issue, patch and compiled release (based off proton-ge-6.19) below
Release: https://github.com/Raptor85/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/Proton-GE-CVA-FIX
Audio player on main menu does not change song, in-game audio works fine.
Works perfectly, no tweaking needed
Mouse has severe input lag, controller isn't detected properly, using an override it works but without proper button prompts. (I use a ps5 controller, it gives me xbox prompts)
Stutter due to excessive IO, being reported on windows as well
I haven't experienced any crashes beyond the main menu, it crashes a LOT getting to it, but once in game it seems stable. EAC would also fail to load for me without extra steps taken. (custom pam limits, kernel config, and ONLY works on flatpak)
Bloodstains don't work, this is an issue for most people on windows as well right now
After quite a bit of work I'm getting a reliable 60+ fps and the online is stable. (well, as stable as any fromsoft game) I put together a guide on everything I had to do to get the game working well, hopefully it'll be patched soon. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2766665242
Between the UI issues and the frequent crashes in certain areas it's not very fun to play right now
Must disable all AA, HDR, and most effects to play without having a weird "blinking" effect, HUD regularly disappears
Edit the mouse sensitivity in the .ini files before launching or the mouse moves WAY too fast in the menus, can't click the buttons.
60+ fps in most areas but in some areas slows down considerably
It's good in most areas but some spots it crashes a LOT, save often.
UI corruption, often occurring directly after using VATS
Attempted with and without disabling esync, no notable difference
Running around half the FPS I would expect, barely maintains 60 in the best of times
crashes regularly, about every half hour of play, could not make significant progress in the game due to this.
Under-performed slightly and locked at 60fps, ran with all settings on highest but had to degrade quality to 90% to prevent occasional stutter.
Game can not detect video card statistics and defaults to a very low setting, this has no impact on gameplay and does not prevent you from setting it higher but the memory available display is always on 0

occasional crashes if esync is enabled, runs perfectly with PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1
