Works surprisingly well...
Occasional performance drop but not gameplay impacting.
Besides the occasional performance drop compared to native, its like running under windows. It even picked up on my two part HOTAS setup of a Logi stick and Thrustmaster throttle. Unless you need helper apps, it's difficult to tell the difference between Windows and Proton.
Works pretty good. Could use some tweaks here and there for ocasional crash.
Seems some issues playing some of the movies without the GE build
GE build is more stable. Can play for hours without crash, but GE seems a little more stable.
no game mode, no tweaks seems best. Performance is a little better with GE 7-43 with fewer micro studders.
Still needs a lot of work...
%command% -FastLaunch
It seems like its having a hard time processing all of the streaming content that 2024 does. For those not in the know, 2024 streams a lot of the game in from the servers in addition to all of the 'live' or time based data. This on top of the existing weather, environment, maps, ets data that the prior version had. This would explain why the sim seems to work fine, but then chokes and WINE freezes up when processing something after a few shudders. Likely something in the netcode, decompression, or processing of the streamed data.
No command hacks or anything needed. Just use experemental if your ok with the ocasional little graphical hickup (only lasts a second) or the latest GE to get rid of about everything. There is a bit of a performance reduction vs native Windows, but using high instead of Ultra gives similar charectoristics between the two OSs. Considering everything this has to be the most stable release of a Bethesda game ever. Granted thats only if you use AMD, sorry people using Intel and Nvidia GPUs. Intel is running behind and Nvidia denied extra funding for the fall's releases by the driver group. They both should be good and solid in the next 30 days though, just neither has day 1 resources.
