I didn't run into the issues Vektro did below, but it took almost an hour to install DotNet. Proton 5.2-GE-2 fixes the HUD issue.
The stock launcher is a little unstable (it tends to crash - and usually restart - if you switch between more than two or three different manufacturers when selecting a car), but it's not unusable and I haven't seen any of the slowness others have reported. The game itself is fine. I tried Content Manager using the tips others have posted, but can't get it to run at all.
Almost completely fine. But lockups are annoying.
I have a 1280x1024 5:4 monitor, and although Windows users have posted fixes for some unusual issues with that resolution (the lockpick animation doesn't appear, for example), it seems a lot less stable than when running windowed at 720p.
I'm surprised this isn't reported by more users, because I can rarely enter the downtown area without a lockup which requires killing the game manually. As I've said above, running in a more “standard” resolution seems to help a little, as does forcing a virtual Windows desktop with winecfg, but to be honest both may just be placebos. It's hard to tell.
The only vaguely reliable workaround I've found is to switch to WineD3D, move a city block or so, then reload with DXVK and hope the problem has passed. And it doesn't always work. I can play for hours outside the city without a problem, but that can get annoying very quickly.
The game complained about OpenAL not being installed. It runs without it, but silently. After installing it with wine/protontricks, it works perfectly.
Started first time with no problems and I played for about 90 minutes, but for some reason it won't run again.
