When switching between windowed and fullscreen you need to restart the game.
Window resizing is weird, In Windows the game forces an aspect ratio while you resize it. This does not happen in Linux
Using the Custom Cursor option creates a very delayed cursor.
The game launches, and plays well. 3D Acceleration is even enabled by default (you ironically need to tinker with this on modern Windows).
Aside from the game's windowing issues it works under Linux like a native game. You won't even notice its anything else.

You MUST force steam play, there is a native port of this game for linux, but it is so far outdated and not worth attempting to play under native. Aside from that small issue this game works just as well as native.
There is some wonkiness using a DS4 Controller without it going through Steam, but otherwise works just fine
if you've played this game on windows you MUST delete the settings.sav file

When opening the chart editor program while having the game open. The game will crash, so maybe don't do that
Talespire URI does not work OOTB. You need to manually add it. Instructions can be found in these reviews or on this page. for Arch-based use WINEFSYNC
instead of WINEESYNC
Multiplayer is done via a centralized server.
Aside from TaleSpire URI's not working OOTB, (additional steps are required) this game works wonderfully OOTB on Proton 7.0-2
