I changed the refresh rate to 40.
I was able to get into the game and play. However, while on the first boss, I paused and hit the Steam button. This caused my controller inputs to stop being detected. If I hit the Steam key again, the controller would work again, but upon trying to exit the Pause menu, the game would stop responding to controller inputs.
Other than the crashing and the save game issue (no cloud sync), the game plays and looks amazing.
I have my system set to default to 40fps to improve battery life.
There is a screen that pops up that says testing/validation of your hardware failed IIRC. I was able to simply use the touch screen to get past it, however.
The game tells me that my saves are corrupted. And I do not believe that cloud syncing is working either (probably a good thing in this case). But my save was still there and I could play despite the message.
I was able to replicate a crash twice. I pressed the Start button and simply went over to Options to see what I could mess with and the game crashed. It crashed a second time doing the same thing.
I am one of the devs of this game and I have been playing/testing Vengeance Hunters for over 6 months on the Steam Deck.
I have ensured that the game runs wondefully on the Steam Deck as I think it will be pivotal to our success due to the type of game it is.
