I was glad I didn't have to really play with proton versions to play the game the only reason I changed to 7.0.4 was to get mangohud to appear but other than that the game ran pretty flawlessly

You won't be able to connect to any of the online parts at least I couldn't
use proton experimental to log in to your microsoft account otherwise you won't be able to play the game offline as it needs an xbox profile to be logged in on first boot up of the game
