As long as you're comfortable replacing a dll file, it pretty much just works after that.
Had to replace a dll as described here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/12140/discussions/0/1640919737479023003
The video that plays when you launch the game didn't seem to render, although sound was playing. In game cutscenes all seemed fine.
Copy and paste the file found here (https://steamcommunity.com/app/12140/discussions/0/1640919737479023003) in the main install folder, overwriting the existing one. Based on my recommendation I'd use proton 6.3-8, and it works pretty well after that.
Would not work under newer proton versions, 5.13-6 worked. Can't seem to connect to any multiplayer matches.
As mentioned, switching to 5.13-6 worked, but multiplayer did not seem to be working.
Proton Experimental did not work - I expect this to get an unsupported rating for steam deck. That said, works perfectly with GE.
Not the best performance, but playable. I set all settings to low, resolution scale to 70%, and get a stable 40fps at 40hz with rare drops
DXVK_ASYNC=1
Lowering resolution adds letterboxing, even for 16:10 aspect ratios
I've played about an hour so far, and would consider this playable. Apparently there are unreal 4 shader compilation issues, so I used "DXVK_ASYNC=1" with GE7-42 and have had pretty stable performance. I could push performance even lower and get a stable 60FPS, but Resolution scale at 70% at low with 40fps at 40hz has felt like a good balance for me.
Changed resolution scale to 70, set all graphics settings to low, capped to 40 fps @ 40hz
Set resolution to 70, all graphics to low, FSR makes it look fine and I get a stable 40fps for about 3 hours.
