changed trackpads from default to keyboard buttons
small amount of stuttering on intense stages
Works well with default setup. For higher resolution graphics, press F (mapped to Y in the default controller layout)
Changed Game Resolution to 1280x720 and enabled "Set resolution for internal and external display"
Enabling fullscreen will stretch it out to fit your display, meaning the game appears taller than it should, which is why I forced 1280x720. Its a 7 minute game though, so you'll be fine no matter what you do to be honest.
Selecting the soundtrack or Ernesto opens a secondary window, and there is no way to quit back to the main game.
remappped some controls to make misinputting jump harder, but it works fine with the defaults.
Limited power and GPU speed, as this is an older game
Both GE-Proton and Forced Experimental get the game to launch, but graphics are heavily corrupted and the game accepts no controller input.
Technically an improvement over older versions?
radeonsi_zerovram=true %command%
The game does allow controller input, but it needs to be mapped via an in game menu first. I made a layout that maps the arrow keys and enter to the right stick, and used that to set up the rest of the controls properly.
Credits to https://steamcommunity.com/id/Wantija for first posting the launch options fix!
Works fine, but for some reason uses the WASD+mouse preset, which maps the reset button to A.
The games themselves work, but selecting one prevents you from returning to the game select screen without closing the game entirely.
Launching any game opens a secondary window, which is impossible to exit from without force-quitting.
Occasional artifacts on the left and right sides of the screen, nothing that impacted gameplay, though.
Opted in to linux beta, see https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/2081180/view/5532134553920463943
Multiplayer only game, really fun locally in my experience but completely dead online. Probably best played with a dock.
Controller was only detected when I switched from the naitve version to Proton.
I can't really evaluate the multiplayer properly, because I could not find a single game.
Native linux version and vanilla proton do not launch the game from the launch window properly.
Some large stutters during stages, but the gameplay never got out of sync
Changed l2 to left click and r2 to right click
Game runs perfectly even at the lowest clock speed, it's from 2006 after all!
At one point my cursor was stuck outside of the game window after opening the quick menu, but opening it again fixed it.
Beat the game on my Deck, works perfectly barring some hidden achievements that require keyboard input.
Rebound some keys so I could unlock some secret achievements
The following keyboard keys are used to unlock hidden content: All 4 arrow keys, B, A, Shift+C, K, F
Does not work at all, closest I got was Proton 5.13-6, but immediately after Proton finishes loading it boots me back to Steam.
Technically works, but was definitely not designed with the deck in mind at all. Very finnicky to pick up cards with touchscreen.
All text is difficult to read.
Nearly unplayable without a mouse
Added mappings for some on-screen buttons. I posted my custom layout to steam.
Some text in ending images is hard to read.
The default controller support for this game is TERRIBLE, avoid using at all costs.
For some reason, I got some audio stuttering in the level "Fisty's Bog", but it went away when I exited.
