Awesome experience that same as running on Windows, or even better.
Make sure to run the program via the proprietary discrete graphics card driver such as NVIDIA proprietary driver, or the 3D acceleration function could not be enabled probably. The 3D acceleration function which is disabled will not make the game running improperly, but will decrease your gaming experience.
Need a -changedir parameter to play. Go to game properties, set launch options, input the -changedir parameter, and enjoy it.
It always crashes every time after playing about 5 minutes.

I have tried latest Proton, Proton Experimental and the latest Proton-GE, and the issue cannot be resolved by anyone.
Running as stable as on Windows generally, with some minor issues however.
I installed the game on Proton 5.0-9, and kept the same preferences as the one installed on Windows. Generally, it works as great and stable as on Windows. It still exists some minor issues while playing however, and sometimes, the experience will be influenced by them:
- Text on Rockstar Club may be "tofu" while playing on non-latin language, such as Chinese and Japanese. Text on the game shows normally, by the way. It caused by non-latin fonts missing, but it didn't work after manually installing CJK fonts on the Proton wineprefix.
- The frame rate will be dropped to 7 FPS in average after minimizing the game and restoring it.
Whatever, the performance is out of my expect totally.
