Progress can't be made past the first cut scene.
The first cut scene in the game fails (after talking to Mrs Green and leaving for Granville). The music can be heard, but the display is black and blank. When holding the spacebar a "spacebar | skip cutscene" graphic shows up in the lower-right-hand corner, but the cut scene isn't skipped. The game won't seem to progress past this point.
A typical player would not be enthused having to debug after the first transition.
Initially the game wouldn't make it past the first cutscene/transition to Granville. Then I "forced the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" to "Proton Experimental". After I did this I got a 1980's-television-after-hours-style rainbow array (I think that indicates Proton graphics error) and then the game successfully loaded into Granville.
This game runs very well on Linux.
Crashes are very infrequent
Game crashes on load
I launch the game on DirectX 11 and am able to see the black-and-gray "Deep Rock Galactic" title box; my screen goes black to load the game and then it crashes.
According to Steam the game is in "Running" state - I have to click the "Stop" button on Steam to try again.
I've tried the 'WINEDLLOVERRIDES="mfplay.dll=d" %command%' launch option with multiple Proton versions including 4.11-13 and 6.3-4 (and others). It continues to crash.
Crashes make the game impossible to play.
Crashes shortly after starting "SPINE-CHLLING STORY OF SCHOOL SCISSORS", usually within 5 minutes. Crashes don't seem consistent - they don't happen at exactly the same point, but they always do happen.
World of Warships runs well when it runs; however, it is not uncommon for an update to cause you not to be able to play the game on Linux
