Absolutely fantastic game & works great on deck aside from the aforementioned crashing issue. Hopefully a fix soon?
Required to install Ubisoft Connect
Usually within an hour of gameplay, the game will freeze and my Steam Deck will reboot itself.
Does not seem to harm save/progress, but is disruptive and worth working towards a fix.
Protontricks required to install Uplay/Ubisoft Connect. (Acquired & Launched via Destop Mode)
So the review by Corben is correct and the video guide both clear and good... except for 1 key step: after the install of Ubisoft Connect (it changed name from UPlay) it needs to be launched.
Side note: to play on Windows the DRM requires to disable hardware virtualization, lowering the security of Windows. GG Ubisoft, GG.
Protontricks has to be installed via Desktop mode, and then Uplay needs to be installed into the game's prefix.
Uplay is not installed and not detected. Needs manuall install via protontricks
Needs tinkering, otherwise it cannot be played due to missing Uplay.
Game supports 720p max and cannot switch to 800p.

Uplay has to be installed manually
Needs some tinkering as Uplay is not automatically installed anymore. Can be done via protontricks. After that the game works perfect.
This is the same on Windows!
Proton-5.5-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
No more media foundation workaround needed for this game!
Proton-5.4-GE-3 + mf-install
I prepared a custom prefix with mf installed:
- install glorious eggrolls custom proton fork (here: Proton-5.4-GE-3), restart steam
- either run a game with this custom proton version selected (maybe delete the games proton prefix afterwards again), or unpack proton_dist.tar.gz to a folder named dist, which you have to create
- clone mf install
- install mf to that custom proton version: PROTON=$HOME/.steam/steam/compatibilitytools.d/Proton-5.4-GE-3 WINEPREFIX=$HOME/.steam/steam/compatibilitytools.d/Proton-5.4-GE-3/dist/share/default_pfx ./mf-install.sh -proton
UPlay launcher works, but game won't launch.
Though Uplay successfully launches, the game closes with "There is not enough memory available to run this program. Quit one or more programs, and then try again." Maybe Denuvo related. Tried to manually install media foundation, but it didn't help.
