When first starting the game I would get audio and a black screen. I could not see anything.

In Steam I went to the game's "Properties" > "General" > "Launch Options." I entered PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1. After that the game opened and played with no problems at all. It works now.

Game would launch with Proton 5.0-9 but only black screen and no audio.
