A year ago, this would either crash sharex, or your entire os. BUT NOW IT WORKS, AND IM HAPPY.
I have it installed, and i don't know if it helped or not but im turning it on just in case.
My mouse/OS was actually freezing.
Its not as easy to drag and drop the images, for example discord could not regonize the image from clipboard. So you have to open the folder where the screenshots are, from the app. and then copy it and THEN paste it in discord or whatever app you use. the images don't look that bad! the text is a little bit wonky, but it's readable. Im inpressed how we have come so far in Wine/Proton development that even SHAREX is now half working.

Using the more advanced tools ShareX offers are non-functional and thus are not worth any hassle over the vanilla options available in most distros. Though for thoose who may use the smaller functionalities such as "Color Picker" and so on and thoose who are more familiar with ShareX and do not wish to switch, it is a "functional" option.

Half the functionality is broken. However fullscreen screenshot does work surprisingly. 2028 is the year of sharex working under proton
App starts, some features are usable (such as color picker, image splitter) but anything related to reading the screen causes crash.

While this doesn't even accomplish a hundredth of what ShareX can, I recommend can flameshot for taking screenshots.

It seems that with Proton 4.2-3 a window opens containing some form of crash report. It closes very swiftly, though, however Steam still thinks that the game is open and you have to close it yourself (via htop or similar).
