works perfectly
Runs flawlessly but always shows an annoying warning upon launching.
Upon starting, a dialog box appears with the warning: "Debug version has been selected for DirectX run time. Application may not run on intended performance." After dismissing, it proceeds to run flawlessly. The dialog box can be eliminated by using dgVoodoo as a Direct3D 9 wrapper. Ultimately, I chose not to because it reduces performance on my machine. Still, those with more powerful rigs might consider it.
Perfect using Proton Exp 7.0-20220829
Works with proton 7.0-4
A DirectX error: "Debug version has been selected for DirectX run time. Application may not run on intended performance." Touch screen or Steam+Right Track pad to click OK. No issues after that. If you map a back button to Enter you can pass this without touching the screen.
Unless you choose Full Screen, 1280x800 will draw some of the game off screen. Full Screen uses the entire 800 Y axis of the screen. This is a 3:4, tate mode, vertical shump so the all the vertical realestate is needed.
It holds 60fps locked. The game pulls 12-14 watts even at 320x200. So might as well max out the settings. That's ~3 hours of battery life. It's an arcade shump so a full playthough could been done more than once on a full charge.
Proton 4.11-13 required, no other versions worked.
Game works flawlessly after dismissing the debug DirectX error.
DirectX error is prompted on boot, however dismissing it allows playing the game as though nothing happened. The error in question is "Debug version has been selected for DirectX run time. Application may not run on intended performance."
All modes worked flawlessly in the game, played with a DUALSHOCK 4.
In Openbox, using ToggleAlwaysOnTop
will allow you to escape fullscreen with Alt-Tab.
A error window saying "Debug version has been selected for DirectX run time. Application may not run on intended performance." appears when starting the game, but this can be dismissed by clicking the OK button. You may not be able to bypass this without a way to control a mouse or keyboard.
Works perfectly with only brief minor graphical issues
2 or 3 times during a playthrough, big explosions caused by bosses being defeated caused the playfield to flicker black. These were very brief and did not affect gameplay.
Flawless out of the box, great performance and no audio issues. Also worked fine with Nintendo Switch Pro controller.
Perfect out of the box, tried the game both windowed and fullscreen.
Crashes on the title screen after pressing enter or waiting for it to fade out. Appears to be a regression, since it works fine with 3.7
Perfect. Works out of the box with my arcade controller. Smooth & no input lag.
Flawless, did not have to change lauch options or anything.
Essentially flawless
