In this game, track pad works better with it emulating a trackball at high sensitivity
Getting coop on steam deck to work will require at least a keyboard plugged into the deck for player two. Or you could bind one half of the deck for the other player as keyboard keys if you really wanted to get close while playing a 22 year old game
Switch the deck layout to mouse trackpads to properly play this game on deck, joystick controls do not work on modern controllers (im pretty sure).
For control setup: Change input option to "Keys" and create a keyboard+mouse layout that includes arrow keys for movement, space bar for firing, escape for quitting, and left mouse for navigating early menus and high score entry.
Just started the game and played through first few levels. Works absolutely perfectly, no issues
Displays main menu and plays music, but immediately locks up and goes completely unresponsive. Compatibility settings don't make any difference.
