Played a whole campaign, no issues
A couple crashes during my campaign, never a big deal or clear that it had anything to do with Linux
Amazing Total War game, happy to play on Linux
Great game

Launched no issues. Switch to windowed mode to for alt-tab to work

Can't get it to launch
Will not launch for me on Steam flatpak (Fedora 41). Set to Proton Experimental, Proton Hotfix, Proton 9.0, Proton 7.0 etc. Always an immediate crash, won't get to launcher or splash.
Works great. Proton 7.0-5 no longer necessary.

When trying to alt-tab in fullscreen mode, it would momentarily show the desktop but go back into the game. Switching to borderless windowed mode allowed me to alt-tab properly.
After months of installing/uninstalling the game and trying different proton versions (experimental, GE), I can confirm that you can get the game to boot up if you switch to Proton 7.0-6.

It doesn't even start on any new version of proton. I tried protonGE, experimental and the newest by default. I found a steam deck guide on Steam and the guy used 7-0-6. It runs perfectly on this version.

Installs, Launcher opens, black screen when I click "play".
This screams nvidia driver issue to me: -Works on my dell inspiron laptop without issue (also running Pop OS), so it's not an OS issue; -Switched to a different HD with windows on the same machine, no issues. -Tried various proton versions, skipping launcher, and several other recommended fixes to no avail. System is fully updated, running latest nvidia drivers, no other game I own has had this issue.

The game launched from a windows drive.

The game is locked at 16 FPS, even on the lowest quality settings. I’ve tried various Proton versions without any success.
game locked at 16 fps
unplayable for now

Set it to Proton Experimental

Set it to Experimental.
Launcher can run.

Game launcher comes up but after clicking play there is a black screen and doesn't progress.
Does not run.

The default proton that steam recommends will result in a black screen, but switching over to experimental allowed the game to boot and to be played

Worked straight out of the box. Game started in 1920x1080, but managed to change to 1440p in-game.
Game started in 1920x1080, managed to change resoultion eventually.
