I have tried both the default Proton as well as Proton GE 9-2
it did not matter which version of Proton i used these graphical issues were the same
when not in motion this game looks fine and as expected but when in moviment the texture layers keep re-apearing and disapearing and reaperaing, its quite distracting

Don't really know the game at all, but I own it and the name sounds interesting to me.
Recommended proton version became unresponsive after clicking "detect video card" (which is a necessary part of the first time config wizard) but with older proton that worked. However, after that it crashed on actual startup, complaining about DirectX, so it's clearly a proton issue.
I didn't try DGvoodoo2 as outlined by others.
Borked, direct3D error
After running setup and selecting direct3d from launcher, when you hit play game, it loads a black screen stating that it cannot find a suitable direct3d graphics adapter.

Used DGvoodoo2 to wrap glide to DX11 so that DXVK could handle the game. also need's bink video to play videos. dont forget to put native then built in for the glide dll's in winetrick's winecfg (i used protontrick's to configure the winetrick's)
you cant alt tab properly but it is expected from double wrapping.
look for the unoficial patch for an even better experience. steam unfortunately dosent offer's it.
You have to use a Glide wrapper like dgVoodoo or nGlide and tell the game to use the Glide backend. I used dgVoodoo. On DirectX the game simply refuses to run. On glide it runs like it's native.
Unknown(an hour with Proton)For the game to run, you need a glide wrapper. Either nGlide or dgVoodoo would do. Open the launcher (by just running the game) and click"Setup". Let it scan for all, and choose "3DFx Glide". It runs without problem! And with dgVoodoo you can play it at higher resolutions and with Anti-Aliasing!

changing options is like fighting a tank with an stick... nothing happens. just complaining about "no Direct3D device was found"
Game spits out a no video card detected error on launch, I've attempted to launch with multiple versions of proton and have even bypassed the launcher.
