You need to force Proton 4.11-13, there was some regression with Proton5, it's an old Unity3D game.
Performance:Significant Performance Problems
Proton 4.11-13 works perfectly fine at 30fps (game capped) but with Proton5 i got terrible fps, like 20 or less.
