Great experience with Proton 7.0-6

Game ran perfectly out of the box with GE 8.30. The intro played fine other than a few crackles in the audio after i changed tabs but other than that no cracking audio. Plays at a smooth 60 fps with almost instant load times.

Only tested the arcade mode so far but the game runs perfectly with zero tinkering from my experience.

GST_PLUGIN_FEATURE_RANK=protonaudioconverterbin:NONE %command%
Cutscene audio can be fixed by using GE proton and disabling the gstreamer audio converter.
Working perfectly with the latest default proton.
Borked
Shows "now loading" with a black screen and then crashes instantly. Used Proton 7.0-5 Flatpak community build.

Sometimes the fullscreen mode isn't 1:1 with the SD screen resulting in the game being a bit blurry, just go to settings and set the screen to windowed then back to fullscreen to fix it
Game run and play perfectly on Steam Deck, The latest Proton Experimental fix the audio issues in cutscenes that other users have reported. (The issues is still present with the latest proton 7.0.4 and GE 7-31)

The game boots with sound (except in the intro cinematic)
when i try to play a match it will be loading eternally
Just add PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% in the launch option.
Runs fine on proton-ge-custom-bin 7.0rc3_GE_1-1. Be aware that audio does not play during cinematics.
proton-ge-custom-bin 7.0rc3_GE_1-1
No sound during cinematics

6.21-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
https://github.com/GloriousEggroll/proton-ge-custom/releases/tag/6.21-GE-2
Was only during intro video
Backgrounds are constantly blinking and the menu buttons won't show.
Game doesn't start at all.

No funciona el juego en Ubuntu 20.10
Actualmente el juego no inicia en ubuntu se utilizan varios comandos que son los siguientes: PROTON_NO_ESYNC = 1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC = 1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D = 1% command% pero actualmente no funcionan.
en resumen no arranca en Ubuntu
Works perfectly with the launch flags: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Light lags here and there (like 55fps instead of 60) and light stuttering, completely neglectable though imo.
If not specified, the game will start using vulkan, which is not supported by my hardware. Here's the command line: PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%
sometimes it is slow in the menus

YMMV, but the game did play/exit in the short time I tried.
Like with BlazBlue Chronophantasma Extend, I had to use "PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%" in order to get the game to work on my config.

Proton-5.8-GE-2-MF GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.8-GE-2-MF
There is no audio in the videos. This is due to the lack of implementation of ASF reader. When battles are won the sound is borked. Seems like a lack of implementation of a DSoundRender_SendSampleData
.
Dualshock 4 controller is detected but completely unresponsive. With older Proton versions it was possible to workaround by forcing Steam controller off. Now it doesn't work at all.
Sometimes crashes when launched or freezes/crashes after a few hours.
In Arcade mode the text is skipped automatically when the characters are talking to each other. Even a very fast reader will have a hard time reading the story.

Other than no sound in WMV files the game works fine. It's possible to watch the videos with sound outside the game.
Proton-5.6-GE-2 GloriousEggroll
Proton-5.6-GE-2 has patches that make the initial video work.
The videos don't have sound and when you win the sound is borked.
With any kind of input configuration DS4 controller will not be properly mapped. Better leave the defaults.
You can now get into the game with Glorious Eggroll's 5.6-1 custom Proton build.
You can view movies, but most don't have sound. You can do everything else until it comes to a fight, once you reach the "Now Loading" screen it hangs.

Yep, still borked. No amount of tinkering (changing Proton version or launch options) could get the game to boot up to its main menu.
Guilty Gear XX AC+R seems to work just fine though if you're looking for an old ArcSys fighter on Linux.
Black screen then crash
Still borked with the black screen of borkness.
Black screen then crashes.

Loads to black screen; hangs for 20 seconds and crashes back to desktop.

Latest Proton Beta still shows the same behaviour; boot to black screen, then crash.

Boots to a black screen and crashes shortly after.

Launches to black screen; crashes a few seconds later.

Game displays a black screen, then crashes to desktop.

Setting HCKU>Software>Wine>Direct3D>OffscreenRenderingMode=backbuffer got me to see some font-garbage instead of a black screen, but the game crashes right after that. I used to play this game perfectly in wine with the setting above, but it seems this won't work with Proton...

Attempts to play intro movie and crashes.

Game loads into black screen

Crashed in wine as wll
