Work perfect out of the box

Works perfectly without stuttering on Proton 9.0-1. Earlier versions I tried had significant perfomance issues.
Game would crash if "number of slices" in video settings is High. Seems stable with Medium, no problems after 5 hours of play on one go.
Please note I actually run on hybrid graphics on Nvidia RTX 2060, driver 550.76, on X.org, which Steam fails to report here.

Unlike what others are saying, 800p is an option you can choose with the settings launcher, it runs great at 800p on max settings.

The game runs in low resolution if some conditions are not met, like 60Hz. To prevent this, edit the the file "/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/24880/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/Documents/My Games/The Saboteurâ„¢/SaveGames/config.ini" and ensure that: ScreenWidth 1280, ScreenHeight 800, RefreshRate 60 and add the line Windowed 1. If you don't add this last line it will likely run in low resolution, even in the Deck OLED.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Game worked fine. It preselected keyboard and mouse controller mapping when the standard gamepad worked fine. This was easily adjusted.

The game was perfectly downloaded by the Linux game and I turned it on I work on every protone with the latest only unique what I applied so
Because it's an old port, there are graphic bugs like broken visibility or missing smoothing, but you can fix it with vkbasalt or reshade.
It's an old game of some bugs are sure to go there, but that there would be a kidney of soft bugs that would destroy playing on those I didn't come across.

WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dinput8=n,b" %command%
Installed Fusion Fix mod. In Protontricks run winecfg, add dinput8 to library override. Add launch command to Steam
Graphics settings will not be used if Refresh Rate is above 60hz
Using a OLED Steam Deck, set resolution to 1280x720 to enable 60hz refresh rate. Seems to run well at higher resolutions too, as long as the refresh rate is 60hz.

Game runs great! Only thing that needed to be done was to change the controller to Joystick instead of mouse. Also had an issue settings the video to 1280 x 800, it would show the lowest res available. To fix this, just needed to change to 1280 x 720.

Dropped frame limit to 48, tdp to 8
must run game in 720p for now as 800p is blurry
must manually go to controls and choose official gamepd support (only once)

Refresh rates above 60 Hz default to the lowest 640x480 resolution
Sometimes dips below 60 FPS
Need to apply the gamepad control template.
For Deck OLED owners - the 1280x800 resolution does not offer a 60 Hz mode. The game will default to its lowest resolution when above 60 Hz. Fixing this requires you to launch the settings launcher and picking the 1280x720 resolution which allows you to select 60 Hz refresh rate. After that the game will work full res albeit at 16:9. Editing the config file and limitng the refresh rate using the Deck's menu does not fix this issue.

If you forcibly enable Steam Input with a gamepad layout, the game should work perfectly afterwards.
By default the game did not detect the full gamepad controls of the Steam Deck.
To fix, ensure Steam Input is enabled > Launch the game > Press STEAM button > Go to "Controller Settings" > Pick a Gamepad layout preset for the game > Restart the game.
The game should now recognise that a controller is "connected" and the main menu controller options should be available for remapping.
Finished Prologue/First Mission before reporting.

steam deck controller not reconised as a controller
trouble changing resolution

Constant FPS stuttering.
The game does not remember what resolution you choose in the Video setup.
