The game uses chrome which doesn't run well on wayland. Thus the command line settings are needed.
%command% --ozone-platform=wayland --use-gl=angle --use-angle=vulkan --use-vulkan=native --ignore-gpu-blocklist --enable-zero-copy --enable-gpu-rasterization --enable-native-gpu-memory-buffers --enable-gpu-memory-buffer-video-frames --enable-features=VaapiVideoDecoder,VaapiVideoEncoder,UseChromeOSDirectVideoDecoder,VaapiIgnoreDriverChecks,Vulkan,DefaultANGLEVulkan,VulkanFromANGLE
Audio cuts out for a second every once in a while
Animations are slow and graphics settings need to be set to low
The game runs good on X11 (from what other people said). It currently stucks on main menu on Wayland with nVIDIA cards.
Game occasionaly crashes using gamescope.
As mention, the game gets stuck on main menu if using Wayland, at least with nvidia card. on X11 it should run smoothly from what other people said.
Either run the game on X11, or use gamescope from steam launch options - gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -r 164 -f -- %command%. W and H are width and height of screen (your resolution), r is the refresh rate, and -f is for fullscreen.
will update if and when it'll work on wayland.
- Works just fine - Developer is actively soliciting feedback about SteamDeck user experience
DXVK_FILTER_DEVICE_NAME="AMD Radeon Graphics" %command%
Doesn't benefit from a dGPU, hence I switched to the integrated. Works fine on Nvidia, at least running on X11
Nvidia on Wayland freezes the game after the loading Ferret. Nvidia with X11 gets the game running. The game also runs fine on Steam Deck
gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -r 164 -f -- %command%
I experienced some crashes. Sometimes it happens after a few minutes, sometimes after a few hours, and sometimes no crashes at all.
Without gamescope, the game freezes after a few seconds in the main menu.
I had to force gamescope, without that, the game is stuck in the main menu. Make sure to enter YOUR monitor's screen size and refresh rates in the launch options. the -"f" is for full screen mode.
Switch to experimental then it works fine.
