Ruguelite progress manifests in higher depths (difficulty levels), unlocking more cards, characters, character passive abilities and shrines (difficulty modifiers). There is a lot of game-mode variety - you can build your starting deck and possible card pool, or you can draft the starting deck and let all unlocked cards be in the possible card pool. There is also a rush mode if you prefer shorter runs
PS. The only reason I've had to "tinker" with the game is because I have an optimus system and my integrated GPU driver is not new enough to work with Proton. The Nvidia driver is.
Managed to launch it once. Never succeeded again
Tried to launch it for ~6 hours. Pulled it off once, after deleting the directory holding the games files. Downloading 69 Gb every launch didn't seem sustainable. Most of the time Steam got stuck on "Launching". Attempting to check the game files would get stuck on "Resetting Install Script". Uninstalling got stuck too!
The one time it did launch it ran fine on 720p upscaled to 1080p- I created a character, watched a stuttering opening cutscene and started the tutorial.

Doesn't benefit from a dGPU, hence I switched to the integrated. Works fine on Nvidia, at least running on X11
Works quite well - only crashes once a week
