Overall a very enjoyable experience, even if you do not own the direct Steam version. The game installs via Connect lanucher and runs well. Runs on the Steam Deck on medium preset with variable framerate of 45-60FPS, no stuttering or notable glitches.
I played Assassins Creed Mirage using the game preset and got pretty much identical performance results, so I would recommend that also on the Deck.

I had occasional crashes even on my Windows PC with good hardware, so it's probably a game's issue.
I tinkered with the in-game quality settings a bit (low-med settings and FSR), and got a stable 30 fps with perfect frame times and acceptable visuals. No lags, no freezes, no dips anywhere. Great experience and a good game.

Lock fps to 30
Fps in cutscenes is rather low
Fps in cutscenes drops to lower than 30 fps on any settings

Solid 45FPS on Ultra Quality FSR, looks and plays great on stock Proton with below settings.
Getting solid 45fps using these settings below. The game looks and plays fantastic, but it is absolutely a battery killer no matter what you do.
I recommend launching the game in desktop mode, and in the Ubisoft Connect settings (look in the system tray), disable the in-game overlay. When you next launch the game in SteamOS game mode, Ubisoft Connect will warn you about the overlay being disabled. Check the box to never see this message again and launch without re-enabling the overlay.

FSR включал в самой игре. Всё отлично тянет.

Запустил пиратку. Всё работает. FSR вкл в самой игре, всё отлично.
Switch to proton experimental, let the game install ubisoft connect, login with your Ubisoft account (first time only), enjoy the game!

Enable Half Rate Shading
Pixelated textures
I have the Ubisoft Connect version, imported on Steam. Runs with both Experimental and GE Proton. The game looked fuzzy and pixelated. Enabling Half Rate Shading in the battery/performance menu (3 dots button), solved the issue.

Played perfectly for a few months but since March 2023 the Unisoft overlay is causing a memory leak which crashes the game after about 25 minutes. No fix yet
I hate launchers and overlays....
Limited to 30 FPS
Experienced occasional crashes that hard-lock the Deck and force me to reboot
Ubisoft Connect will frequently log out due to "inactivity" while playing the game. I have the same problem on Windows, so I don't believe this is Proton-specific
When originally installed, had the issue others were seeing with suspend/resume causing the video to freeze. The latest SteamOS stable release resolved this issue.
Locked fps to 30 and set TDP to around 11 watts
Resuming from sleep crashed the game. Had to force close the game to fix it. Updating steam deck to the preview release channel fixed it and now sleep and resume works flawlessly.
Upgrade to preview branch of SteamOS in settings to fix audio issues and suspend
Medium preset, FSR on balanced
Set refresh rate to 40 in steam.
Tested in a laggy village:
FSR Quality: Probably the best but does drain the battery rather quickly (24W 1.66 hours)
FSR Balanced: Quite a bit more blurry than quality (21W 1.9 hours)
FSR Off: The best looking but drains your battery in like an hour in a village
DONT USE ADAPTIVE FSR ITS BROKEN

The game runs fine, but the need for a mobile hotspot to start the game is not user friendly
Ubisoft connect only wants to connect on my mobile hotspot
Game Runs well, I set it to the medium preset with FSR ultra quality and the ingame vsync on. Set steam deck refreshrate to 45hz.
45hz/Ingame Vsync on/Steam Vsync off
Game is completely frozen after suspending the deck, restart needed.
For Uplay you need an internet connection and the first time you start the download window freezes, you had to restart Steam Deck
There is to set the graphics to the maximum, the sound will occasionally lag
I'll start with the fact that assassin's creed syndicate works worse and I expected the game to pull 30 fps on medium, but Valhalla works fine at high-ultra (everything was set to the maximum) at 30 fps at FSR 2.0 ultra quality (but I advise you to just set the quality, since the sound still lags)
Set graphics options to medium/low. Refresh rate/framerate limit to 40. Capped TDP to 10w.
Set Text Size in-game to Medium, and In-Game Icon Size to Large.
Game is unable to be suspended on the deck. After returning from sleep the audio still plays but the video freezes.

Added Uplay Connect to steam to install (using GE-Proton7-37) then launched Uplay Connect from Steam (using GE-Proton7-37). Everything ran fine after launching the game from Uplay Connect.
Can also add the ACValhalla.exe binary directly to Steam, add Launch Options STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH="/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/{UPLAY COMPAT NUMBER}" %command%
For, example: STEAM_COMPAT_DATA_PATH="/home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2450754673" %command%
