HOST_LC_ALL=ja_JP.UTF-8 %command%
A bit too heavy for this config, but that's to be expected
HOST_LC_ALL=ja_JP.UTF-8 %command%
Use LC_ALL environment variable to display Japanese text properly
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 HOST_LC_ALL=ja_JP.UTF-8 %command%
Runs perfectly fine under current Proton Experimental (you no longer need to plug in controller to fix keyboard input). Fixed borked japanese text by using the LC_ALL environment variable.
strangle 60 %command%
Missing Japanese fonts, in-game conversation text and (I assume) a percent sign were garbled.
Switching view, such as minimizing and then unminimizing made the entire in-use section pure white.
Without libstrangle the game runs at 120 FPS, runs at double speed, has audio crackling and has slowdown during busy moments. All fixed by limiting framerate to 60.
Proton 3.16 was not necessary to get the game to run. I don't have any controllers plugged in, and I had no input issues due to them being present or absent.

Just shows a completely black screen.
Currently not working.
Japanese fonts are broken. Installing cjkfonts did not help. Menu text is ok
Can only move up and right on xbox one controller. Keyboard is ok
Loads a completely white middle area with black borders
Using the latest proton (currently 6.3-5), the screen remains black, with only the audio and inputs working.
However, if you force Proton 3.16-9 in the game's compatibility settings, it runs pretty much flawlessly and doesn't have any performance issues. The dialog in the game displays messy characters, though, as it is on Windows, this is due to the local of the system not properly supporting Japanese characters.
Only works fine with Proton 3.16
On newer Proton versions everything renders as white rectangulars.
All graphics and logos are loaded as white rectangles
PROTON_LOG shows fixmes on DDRAW and D3D
immediately crashes onced launched. Get a pop up of a black screen for a split second then crashes.
Unplayable with Proton 3.16-9, but Borked with no textures under Proton 4.2-3
Game runs well, doesn't have the performance issues as it does on Windows.
If I don't have a controller plugged it, the "up" input gets constantly sent, making playing comfortably impossible. The Z/X inputs also acquire some lag, making menuing tricky - it initially made me thought that the game crashed when I picked "Missions", when it just looped over to the "Exit" option within the lag timeframe.
Plugging in an Xbox 360 controller resolves the issue. However, the "right" and "down" actions on the left stick are not recognized. I have confirmed that my controller is not broken via https://html5gamepad.com/. Also sometimes the A input on the controller gets jammed instead. I can still use keyboard inputs as normal.
The dialogues inside the game are garbled, but that's probably something to do with my locale (en_us UTF-8). The menus are not affected by this.
Tried with keyboard and controller. Both worked fine.
Works just fine except up is constnatly being pressed in the game no matter what. I don't have any controllers plugged it.
