switch your monitor resolution to 1024*768
It's a game from 2006, so try changing your monitor resolution to 1024*768. You can install ArandR to quickly switch resolutions
sudo apt install arandr
open regedit and then Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reality Pump\Earth2160\Interface. Change the value of ShowIntro from 1 to 0. That fixes intro videos stubs that anyway were not playing. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reality Pump\Earth2160\Interface. Change the value of ShowCredits from 1 to 0. That removes credits after exiting the game. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Reality Pump\Earth2160\Interface. Change the value of MaxInterfaceWidth to your screen width, if you think UI is too big you can divide value by 2. Take note that value is entered in Decimal mode.
in winecfg I also locked cursor, since the game has no such option built-in.
Native doesn't work. Proton worked as well. The game logo looks weird but everything is fine.
Direct Play is not working. Failed to create a server for multiple players. (Didn't test EarthNet but it's already dead so...)
Native version wasn't working, seems to work fine in Proton.
