No issues, runs like naitive for all singleplayer stuff so far
I have heard multiplayer has some issues getting out of sync but is resolved with winetricks. I haven't tried multiplayer yet (probably won't ever). Highly recommend this one.
Update so winetricks --version reports 20240105 or newer, then install ucrtbase2019
Desync, unlike other users protontricks cannot find ucrtbase2019

Won't launch with current Proton, but runs flawlessly with GE-Proton9-5

Singleplayer works like a charm, multiplayer desync issue is fixable, protontricks 1840080 ucrtbase2019
protontricks 1840080 ucrtbase2019 resolves multiplayer desync issues, at least for me.

protontricks 1840080 ucrtbase2019
Game works perfectly with GE-Proton9-4 (And 9-5 from forum reports); except multiplayer. To get multiplayer working without desyncing protontricks 1840080 ucrtbase2019 is required (Sourced from 3nternamehere's comments on the HWU discord)
I had to use 'protontricks 1840080 ucrtbase2019' to get the multiplayer working.

Multiplayer always Desyncs within 2 minutes

Anytime I try to play multiplayer, the game will auto-boot all players back to the lobby.

Singleplayer works great, Desyncs with windows players.
Multiplayer desyncs between other Windows players.

It just works!
Ran under Proton 9.0-1. Launched on first try, played and completed tutorial without fail!

Works great. I always use Proton experiential vs the current stable. You may need to restart Steam before you start the game.
Multiplayer still doesn't work. It desyncs after a few seconds.

Singleplayer is flawless so far, Multiplayer desyncs constantly.
Constant issues with desyncs in Multiplayer/Wargames. Tested multiple times, it is most likely not anti-cheat or time/check related. Desync occured when me or my another player opened/manipulated the build menu. Tested proton 8.0-5, 9.0-1, Experimental. Tested on 05/14/24.
Please let me know if you have any fixes or suggestions. Validation, etc did not resolve the issue.
Does nothing, does not launch, shows no sign of life whatsoever.

Ran perfectly out-of-the-box
In fullscreen, the game thinks the machine is a steamdeck and runs at deck resolution unless running in borderless window.

Tried Proton 9 and Experimental, neither worked because the DRM triggered and prevented the game from running, GE 9-4 worked, I haven't tried 9-5 because the game features Denuvo and I didn't want to trigger Denuvo with too many failed launches because the service will usually block you from the playing the game after 5 DRM related issues in close succession.
Works great with no tinkering
Game runs perfectly on linux without any configuration.

FPS drops to 30-40 even on medium

[Demo] Works with some performance degradation compared to Windows
Average FPS is bit lower that on Windows on same hardware. like 10-30%
Serious stuttering in many palces in a game. When you move camera. Turning off Motion bloor mitigated issue somewhat, but not fully. Moving game from NTFS partiton to Btrfs partiotion seems to resolve issue. At least I wasn't able to visually see it. FPS metter was lower.
Gamplay of local play sucks in demo, but that's not proton's fault :-P
Playable but perhaps would need to lower quallity settings.

Ship trails and engine effects seem to constantly drift and flicker
Strong and occasional stuttering, playable on medium and somewhat on high
I expected problems with Denuvo, but apart from performance issues the game worked out of the box and is playable on higher-end hardware

I get 15 FPS on the Mothership and other areas too. It's unplayable currently, but tbf this is a demo.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV RADV_PERFTEST=aco DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
15 FPS on polygon heavy areas, like Mothership, Carriers, Hub etc.

Demo seems to work just fine without tinkering
Fullscreen 3440x1440 with my tiny nvidia GPU works great once graphics are dropped and FSR is enabled. I seem to get between 40-60 fps with vsync enabled.
I typically have a highly customized "tinker" setup I run however I always test with a default launch for comparison. Seems to work just fine.

Game itself seems great, but the demo has desync issue which prevents you from playing the available game mode in multiplayer
performance not great, but playable
Nearly instant desync after loading into multiplayer games
[wargames demo version]

After switching Proton version to 8.0.-5 it is starting again. Only played the tutorial by now. reacts a bit slow but overall it is playable.

Overall, playable when lowering graphical preset to about medium. After a while, stopped noticing performance issues.
AMD_VULKAN_ICD=RADV RADV_PERFTEST=aco DXVK_ASYNC=1 gamemoderun %command%
Major slowdowns when looking at ships or terrain up-close. Especially in the tutorial.

Mouse cursor vanished mid match, unable to get back
Looking at certain objects in tutorial seemed to slow down system significantly. In War Games this was less of an issue
Was dropped and unable to start multiplayer game. Single player seemed to work fine

when focusing on larger group of vehicles
Framerate-drops from 75 - 20, when centering on multiple objects. Reducing draw distance to medium seems to stabilize framerate to roughly 60
for testing purposes, as this is a demo, it should be fine

The single player campaign will probably be fine on launch and hopefully the desync issues will also be fixed.
Sometimes the cursor would not be drawn anymore, but that also seems to happen on windows.
The game desynced after a few seconds and went back to the lobby screen.

Works Out of the Box
I had to configure settings to Near distance because certain objects, I think the asteroids, brought my FPS down to around 15. Units on screen did not have this negative effect.
I think they need to optimize the asteroid rendering performance, otherwise everything else worked well and looked good.

Game crashed too often.
Some stuttering
Game tended to crash when trying to load in from a menu into the game proper.
This is a report for the Demo that became available at around Febuary 6th, 2024.

Will not launch. Uses Denuvo
The game uses Denuvo and will not even launch. Don't waste your time until it's removed.
