Regular proton recomended by steam has frequrent crashes, as does proton experimental. GE does not have crashes.
There are crashes due to some visual effects when using some proton versions, specifically the current latest stable version recomended by steam which is 9.0-2 at time of writing, and in proton experimental. The crashes are consistent, triggered by things like the effects on certain cards, which makes those cards unusable. But, the same cards don't result in chrashing when using proton-GE, so try switching to that if you're encountering the same issue.
Crashes are not particularly frequent, but they are consistent. For example, using the card "poison strike" always crashed the game.
I tried various proton versions including experimental. They all have crashing, at least with the card "poison strike"; and, I also encountered a few other crashes not associate with that particular card, that I wasn't able to identify why they occured. Still, it's plyable in spite of the crashing, and as long as it doesn't randomly crash, everything else runs great.
Works out of the box.
This runs maybe even too well.
Set TDP to 3W. It's enough to run it at 60FPS anyways. Enjoy long lasting battery life!
A prime example of how a game should work on a steamdeck. Flawless experience and very low battery consumption.
Had 2 crashes in a full playthrough, but nothing was lost due to frequent auto saves.
Played through the whole game and it ran pretty well, the gamepad controls are mostly sufficient however there is some minior things you are missing out on, like being able to hover over buffs to see what they say they do. You can view these via the touch screen with a little jankyness (since it will try to play cards).
Some textures were weird but not sure if it was actually caused by proton. Easily overlooked.
Game ran perfectly OOTB. Played 5 levels and didn't notice any issues
Hanabi Fuusen made this game with Steam Deck Support at the forefront of Development
TDP: 5w
Developers added gamepad support solely due to Steam Deck, they also plan on adding 16:10 support, meaning native 1280x800 and other relative resolutions. The game works really well with Proton, no missing textures, Live Animated 2D scenes work well.
This is another developer choosing to support Steam Deck, which thus benefits all of Linux. So if you stumble upon this game by change, do consider giving it a try, it's not a generic low effort simplistic Adults Only game where you solve puzzels or follow a Ryhtmn beat. Many reviews say it is relative to Slay the Spire while being original & not a clone.
