Both with proton and natively game is kinda buggy, but in my experience Proton version works better
Game sometimes freezes and then only way to close the game is reboot
Lighting effects (e.g. HEV battery) would phase through npcs and some decals would flicker, nothing too major aside from that.
Played through most of the game, there hasn't been any major bugs or glitches, my experience has been very enjoyable.
Проблемы с запуском и выходом из игры. Других проблем нет
При переключении в 16:9 пришлось перезапускать принудительно игру
Крайний долгий запуск и выход из игры. Других проблем во время игры не наблюдаю
Sometimes, map transitions crash the game (for me it was c1a1c to c1a1d). The only way I've found to fix this is to re-start the chapter on a new save.
Runs good, plays suprisingly well on deck for a classic FPS
Virtual buttons on left trackpad for sellecting weapon categories
Fps momentarily drops to single digits when an explosion or other resource-heavy effect occurs first time after lauching the game
Playing this game on a handheld with gyro somehow feels more immersive than mouse/keyboard, it's like there is a bit of VR-magic in having to aim at a target with the device that yoy're holding in your hands.
I can't even switch weapons
large, random frame drops every 5 or so minutes
There is no HUD, you cannot switch weapons, and the viewmodel for the legs and lower torso always displays with the scientist uniform.
Could not load library /media/Linux/DAten/SteamLibrary/steamapps/common/Half-Life MMod/HL1Mmod/cl_dlls/client.so
same problem here
-gl
Main menu font doesn't render properly but is perfectly readable
The game uses the default brightness and gamma values the steam version uses, which isn't really ideal - so I configured it as is typically recommended:
- brightness 0.5
- gamma 1.8
Native version is broken for my setup (and from my research, a few other people aswell with no official solution as of writing this).
Comes up with error on startup "couldn't load library /steamlibrary/steamapps/common/Half-life MMod/HL1MMod/cl_dlls/client.so" - which does exist on my drive, but the game can't see it for some reason. It then just closes.
Native port, works as expected.
Not much more to say... Has a native Linux build which runs about the same as standard HL1.
I was able to complete the campaign from start to finish with very few bugs, which might also exist on the Windows build. The mod also JUST released, so there's that.
Quite an enjoyable experience if you're looking to freshen up a Half-Life playthrough.
