-oldgameui
Some text renders either incredibly pixelated or having the width of characters being cut off, otherwise the text is perfectly readable.
The new menu UI doesn't work properly, so the -oldgameui launch option is needed to get through the menu. Game ran pretty well, aside from some issues with performance as I was running on integrated graphics instead of my dedicated GPU. I played a bit of the On A Rail chapter and it worked like Windows.
Achievment tracker is bugged, the game doesn't unlock any achievments despite the game telling you it has.
Despite the 3 previous reports below, the game would not launch under Proton 8.0-5 for me, had to use Proton 5.13-6, Achievements are bugged even when I switched to the equivalent GE version. Otherwise the game works perfectly.
Able to play using Proton 8, game works perfectly
Weirdly using Proton 5 also made it so Steam cloud saves didn't work with the game, forcing me to redo my progress, otherwise everything's great now!
Linux version has some weird issues when playing the game after the first time, running the game under Proton gives me no issues!
The native Linux version worked fine the first time I launched it, but when it came to the second time, there was a significant issue where the game would not render new frames until going to any menu and the retry screen. Windows version worked perfectly fine!
Game lags and freezes at 3 seconds and hangs the OS
PROTON_NO_D3D10=1
Had to use PROTON_NO_D3D10 to force the game to use DX9 so the game could run on my laptop (it doesn't meet minimum system requirements), the game worked as described in the summary, borked.

No high ping during play which is surprising for Australian Wifi.
Obviously played in desktop mode because there's no vr support (but I don't have a vr headset so why do I care?).
Lighting effects (e.g. HEV battery) would phase through npcs and some decals would flicker, nothing too major aside from that.
Played through most of the game, there hasn't been any major bugs or glitches, my experience has been very enjoyable.
Only did first level, but otherwise everything seemed to work perfectly
If you want this game to launch, please make sure you don't install it on a drive that is formatted with NTFS or ExFat or any format not made for linux (same goes for all steam games (excluding non-steam games and native builds)) as Steam doesn't like that, instead if installing on an external SSD, format it with ext4.
SteamDeck=1 %command%
Voice chat works, but your friends won't properly hear what you are saying when you switch maps AT ANY POINT, it can be fixed by going into settings and changing the input microphone there. However you have to do that for each and every time you switch maps, doesn't matter if it is an actual game map or the lobby.
Apparently the launch option I have put in, according to other people, actually applies Steam Deck specific patches that makes the game work better, I have not tried the game without the launch option, but suffice to say, it appears to do its job decently enough. Aside from what was described above, I had a fun time with my friends!
Slight issues with multi-monitor setups (on Native version) but is otherwise perfectly fine!
If you have a multi-monitor setup the game will get confused and have the resolution's width set to the width of every monitor combined (e.g. with two monitors that both are at 1920x1080, the resolution will be at 3840x1080). You can fix this by clicking any of the slider's arrows and the game will correct itself, with the added issue of having the mouse collision for the menu items being offset.
I originally played the campaign on a single-monitor setup and everything worked just like Windows, the windowing issue above only happens on multi-monitor setups, it's a minor annoyance but the game is otherwise still perfectly playable (you just have to deal with the weird offsetting issue, some people have said that using the -vulkan launch option fixes that issue, however I have not tested that as of writing this).
Had to switch to 7.0-6 because Steam hates me using Proton 8, otherwise still runs perfectly on older version.

Pause menu brought down the fps a bit, but I'm not entirely sure if it's linux or not
Couldn't do an online match as it booted me into a server hosting room and players could not join, even with the random players lever on yes. Local works great though!
The cursor is slightly corrupted, but that's pretty much it when it comes to graphical problems.
I used GE-Proton7-55, but that won't matter too much as it didn't seem to make much of a difference to me between that version and Proton 9. I played from start to finish and it was pretty much flawless.
Use Flatpak version of steam in order to get 5.25's native binary running properly
On ver 5.25, 50% of the time when loading into a map, the game's audio bugs out in a odd way where the audio is incredibly crackly, loud and cuts off a milisecond after playing any sound. This sometimes goes away completely. Fixed in 5.26 beta.
On ver 5.25, 50% of the time when loading into a map, the game's video gets laggy and you'll get a black screen for a few seconds before getting video again randomly, this is paried with audio issues mentioned above. Also fixed in 5.26 beta.
On ver 5.25, scroll wheel input on map lists and other scrollable menu items would not correctly register most of the time. Fixed in 5.26 beta.
Ran a local server all by myself on 5.25 and the 5.26 beta, servers worked flawlessly, I only tested this with myself and no one else so LAN multiplayer might have issues with more than one person that I never experienced because of that.
Unless you want to play on a public server (as most if not all public servers will be unjoinable due to them running on 5.25 still), I encourage everyone to use the beta to avoid all the significant issues plaguing SC's native executable.
I mostly played using the proton version above, but it stopped launching on proton versions above 7 during the last half-hour of my playthrough, it's most likely an issue with Steam itself (speaking from past experience).
Runs perfectly on Native build
Game did not save the first playthrough I did, I have no idea if it was an error on my part.
Other than that it runs perfectly
Minor issues, but perfectly playable
At full speed, turnip boy looks jittery when moving.
While not exactly annoying, the game window refuses to un-maximise in some circumstances.
During gameplay the game slows down slightly at places where any kind of slowdown would make no sense, but it doesn't interfere with gameplay at all and doesn't affect playability whatsoever.
Aside from these issues there are no game-breaking bugs and my experience playing has been great.
Tried every proton version (Including GE), wouldn't get past Ubisoft connect
Didn't get close
Works under normal proton with no issues
Some people have reported there being issues with videos being corrupted at rare occasions, but I have had no issues with videos. Tested with workshop content, no issues and was a blast to play with friends.
Native build will not work unless you edit the Run.sh script and run the game using the "Play Worms W.M.D (Run.sh)" option. Use the script linked here as the one in the original post is outdated. Other than that the game runs perfectly fine with no issues
Played with my friends in a game I hosted myself, no issues whatsover.
Tested with a Xbox One S|X controller with the xpadneo driver installed, the game worked with the controller completely fine and had no noticable issues.
Using flatpak version of steam fixes issues with native build
A few times the server my friend would host would kick everyone out, it's more of an issue with us rather than the game but I'll still bring down the functionality thing anyway for honesty.
Played with some friends again and found that I no longer needed the modified run.sh file to play the game, based on other reports I'm assuming it's because of me not using the system package version of steam, as I used he non-flatpak version back when I did my orignal report.
Native version doesn't work on latest Linux Mint release, Proton works with some issues.
Pressing Shift-tab to open the steam ui will minimise the window, same with changing focus to other windows, the game wouldn't let my mouse cursor leave the monitor to the 2nd screen which made me force restart my laptop when it froze trying to load a corrupt workshop map.
Runs slower than native version
Works just like native version in regards to online multiplayer
Most stuff works just like the native version, controllers work just as well. Run the native version if you can, otherwise this is how the game is when you use proton.
