Didn't notice any issues during my only 15 minutes check of this game in Steam.

EA App is hit or miss on if it wants to work.
It would occasionally dip to ~40fps during player close up shots, but no dips during actual gameplay. Controls were auto assigned the same way it would on Xbox.
PROTON_NO_D3D12=1 %command%
Game starts in windowed mode (despite being fullscreen in the settings) and clicking the window a few times makes it fullscreen again.
Game won't get to the menu without using the "No D3D12" launch option.

40Hz
sometimes there is an EA Origin error(-report)-windows, just ignore and close it.
sometimes the game loses online connection, only workaround is restarting the game
I have not found a way to start the game directly from game mode in Steam. Adding Madden NFL 22 directly as a non-steam game gives an error off missing EA Origin services.
That is why I chose to only add EA Origin to my Steam library and click on the game in the Origin launcher. Everything works great except for occasional loss of network connection (restarting from EA Origin launcher helps).
Exiting Madden NFL 22 works like a charm. But by the love of god.. every time I close a non-steam game, in this case the Origin launcher, the loading icon from Valve stays on top - have to 'abort' it with button B and then I am back in my library.
Play time is not recognised in the Steam library but I guess I have been playing for about 15 hours the last couple of days.

-force -dx11
Must force Directx 11 either with -force -dx11 launch option or copy settings from windows
Game will not get past the intro game Cheifs vs Bucs without -force -dx11 launch option or copying settings from windows install set to Directx 11 into the prefix
Once you set -force -dx11 launch option in steam or argument in Lutris the game will run great past the opening game (SB replay) so you MUST copy your settings from a windows install set to Direct X 11 into the prefix or use the -force -dx11 launch option. Once you do that the game will run the same as it does on Windows
Dies at launch screen
Tried multiple Proton versions. Game will not load past "press any key to enter" at the title screen.
Initial menu loaded fine, but froze after completing the tutorial game with standard, expirimental, and GE-7.14
Runs under proton 7 fix only
Stuck loading main menu

Game fails to launch into main menu after clicking press any button
Issue not present in 21, I have reported to EA support
Can start playing first demo match, but cannot get to the main menu.
Was able to get to first exhibition match, but every time I would quit it, the game would freeze on loading screen.
In terms of performance this game runs well, I was using DualShock 4 controller with it, no issues at all, was able to get to the first touchdown and it all played smoothly. Issues arose with freezes/crashes that I was experiencing trying to get to the main menu from ongoing game.
Totally borked

Can get to "Press Any Button to Continue"
I came from Windows and tried playing Madden on here, so unlike the other review I didn't have to go through the first game or set any initial preferences. I can reliably get to the screen that asks you to "press any button to continue" and once I do it the loading circle in the lower left gets to about a quarter way through and freezes. After a few minutes I'm asked if I want to force close as the application is no longer responding.

Initial menu loads. Main menu does not.
Initial menu loaded. Brought me to set my difficulty. Then in brought me into play last years super bowl game. Played an entire game with no issue. Then it went to load the main menu and froze. Restarted several times with different versions of proton and could not get to main menu.
