gamemoderun mangohud obs-gamecapture %command%
Game is not optimised well.
DXVK_HUD=fps,compiler %command%
Frequent stuttering
Reduced graphic settings and resolution
Works out of the box and with a GTX GPU on top of that. :)
DXVK_HUD=fps,compiler %command%
I use DXVK_HUD=fps,compiler %command% bc I wanna see the framerates + when the game compiles shaders. But the game can run without this command OOTB.
On Proton Experimental, I got a black screen that wouldn't load to the main menu. Had to downgrade to Proton 9.0-3 and it worked after that.
run the game on low settings for a smooth experience
DXVK_HUD=fps,compiler %command%
From time to time and only when you open the city map, there's some weird crackling at even intervals.
Anti-aliasing is horrible, it would be better off without it.
Once you alt+tab the game, it remains minimized in the panel (Cinnamon 6.2.x) and it can't be brought back to fullscreen.
Sudden frame drops when you open the city map but that's not Proton's fault, it just needs optimizations.
The game runs almost perfectly fine with the kernel (LTS) and the nvidia driver shown next to this report. The most of the problems in this report (except for the crackling) are due to the fact the game is poorly optimized. With the latest LTS or rolling kernel + the latest 560.35.03 driver there's a lot of frame loss.
Valve only needs to fix the crackling and the inability to bring the game back to fullscreen after it has been alt+tabbed. I have played the game launched via Wine 8.9 with desktop emulation enabled which fixes the alt+tab problem.
pretty good experience. minor stalls that last about half a second completely freeze the screen.
runs smooth between40-60 fps (600x800 + FSR) lock it at 40fps but get screen freezes for about half a second while cruising around almost like its stalling while loading new parts
runs very nicely, however the cars tend to leave mirages in bumper mode, I don't know if it's a visual effect or anything.
Overall, Very playable on Linux!
Amazing Game -Please can CAR X and NFS come togeter and make a game everyone would love, also get the GHOST DEV's back on the project!
gamemoderun %command% -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -THREADS 12
I read online that the game is not well uptimised to use lots of cpu cores
I love CARX STREET - sure it is not perfect, however they are on to something speacial.
What i noticed when ever you update the verion of proton you have assigned to use with the game. it is good habbit to do thfollowing below so you can benefit form the changes made in the updated verion of proton you are now using. you will see a big difference in performance esspeaciall withe the latest GE-Proton9-13 verion of proton in my opinion.
Make a back up of your save files.
DELETE your current configuration folder - SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/1114150
DELETE- the shader cache also for the game SteamLibrary/steamapps/shadercache/1114150
launch the game and steam will reinstall the esstianll configurations needed to play the game with your new verion of proton.
As for my configuration
I use Fedora based Nobara
Installed the steamdeck interface on top of the kde version of nobara, as the hdr in games can be enabled in game with steamdecks UI / compositor.
I have changed the default kernal of Nobara to Cachyos and I get unbelivable inprovement in performance.
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/bieszczaders/kernel-cachyos
- I have installed auto-cpufreq - and enabled the psate driver for my processor (AMD Ryzen 5 PRO 4650G) I have also set the govenor to performance.
https://github.com/AdnanHodzic/auto-cpufreq
- I have installed the latest verion of gamemoderun version 1.8.2
if you already have gamemoderun installed version 1.7-5.fc40 - ensure to uninstall and when you figure out how to install version 1.8.2 via a copr or by follwing it's git repository instructions. ensure to remove any old gamemoderun config files from your system.
once you do this ensure and test that it is working via the following command - gamemoded -t
I use the following launch options with the game ( i have an amd rx5500xt) not fancy but the game runs fantasic at 3840 x 1800 resolution. my tv is the 2024 MODEL - TCL 655K 43 QLED'' but I replaced my more expensive samsung AU9000 tv with VRR for it and it is way more responsive and the colOurs are gorgeous. ( great budget friedly gaming tv 2024 - TCL 655K QLED')
ANYway HERE IS THE LAUNCH OPTIONS I USE
gamemoderun %command% -USEALLAVAILABLECORES -THREADS 12
Restarting the game fixed controller issues
Because of memory leak had to restart the game once in an hour.
Runs actually pretty good on my machine which has a below minimum recommended CPU.
Minor startup artifect with the cutscenes, dissapears with gameplay
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl gamemoderun %command%
Just bad performance all around. constant stuttering and cant even get above a stable 30 fps
pretty good performance out of the box only issue is the games memory leak wich forces me to reboot every now and then
Memory leaks forces me to restart every hour or so to keep performance smooth (this is not a proton issue tough rather a game issue)
Run smooth using the following.
Performance could be slightly better, but game starts, online works have not experienced crashes
Controller wasn't detected one single time, worked after a restart
RADV_PERFTEST=gpl gamemoderun %command%
In Video options set Vsync to double to reduce stuttering.
gamemoderun %command%
В целом играть можно
Мелкие фризы и просадки до 30 FPS
Нативное разрешение, низкие настройки графики (сглаживание FXAA), лок на 50FPS (будут просадки до 30-40)
