Plug and play
Version recomendada de proton y funciona como la seda.
Runs out of the box
Plays excellent on Deck. Story Mode cinematics will require Proton-GE to be displayed correctly.
Story mode cinematics were sometimes glitched, replaced with SMPTE color bars or not displayed at all, while using Steam's proton versions. Problem fixed by using Proton-GE. See installing Proton-GE for Steam Deck here: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/how-to-install-proton-ge-on-the-steam-deck
Excellent. No problems
Plays great with gamepad
Runs excellent at max settings. Works with a controller/fightstick too.
Perfect out of the box.
ultrawide fullscreen is not supported.
Controller must be configured as an xbox controller from my experience, I use a Brooks UFB based controller and have to set that to xbox 360 for the game to recognise it.
frame jitter can occur in windowed mode (need to test with the compositor disabled) however I cannot play in fullscreen to check if it removes it as I suspect because the game does not support ultrawide resolutions.
Runs perfectly with 6.10-GE. 144 locked, no graphical errors that I noticed. Was able to connect to online lobbies without any issues.
6.10-GE-1 GloriousEggroll
6.10-GE-1
A bit worse than on Windows, but it should be completely playable out of the box with a not-so-potato PC.
Slight FPS loss
It works slightly worse than on Windows. On the same PC, Windows gives me 45-60 FPS, while with Proton (out of the box) I get 30-60 FPS. It should be completely playable with some tinkering or better hardware.
If you intend to play this game competitively at all, I don't think you'll be happy with the experience.
Hitches as frequent as these are game-breaking in a fighting game. If you were only playing offline, you might be able to tolerate them.
Game CAN run if you're using Wayland
For whatever reason, this game freezes the system during the opening logos, it appears to be when the Steam Overlay notification appears. I haven't been able to determine why this is happening, except that it only takes place on Gnome with Xorg. Booting to Wayland resolves the problem. It also appears to work if you have something else onscreen at the same time (i.e. DropDownX terminal).
When frozen, all keyboard shortcuts (Alt-Tab, Ctrl-Alt-Del, Escape to CLI) don't function, however if you have BPM on with a steam controller, you will hear menu selection sounds. I'm at a loss.
Story mode requires https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install (AppID 1110100).
My DS4 controller was only recognized if I use Steam Big Picture mode. Story mode cutscenes work after media foundation workaround (https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install/blob/master/install-mf.sh)
Everything works out of the box except story mode cutscenes which can be fixed by running z0z0z's mf-install script (https://github.com/z0z0z/mf-install) on the game's prefix (AppID 1110100). Full controller support and online multiplayer functionality.
