Crashes at least once per game
If it wasn't for constant crashing it would run perfectly out of the box
It just works
It crashed my whole DE when I arrived to the town but after launching again and continuing it didn't crash anymore. Probably a one time thing
It works perfectly out of box
It didn't "just work" after all
Lights are overly brights in some places
Stutters really much in some places even I have 9700 XTX
It crashes the whole DE randomily every few minutes, even if not doin anything
I already praised the game for just working, but instead of that one random crash it kept crashing the system more making the game completely unplayable. So full 180 on that review
Switching to Proton experimental (on Sunday 26.01) fixed every visual bug. Performance is still shit but I think it's the same on Windows
DXVK_HDR=0 SteamDeck=0 gamemoderun %command%
Videos only worked when I switched to GE. Game ends in such video and you will be left with black screen and cannot progress if using normal proton
SteamDeck=1 %command%
Without SteamDeck=1 game will always crash on launch now after the season 1 update
I can get to the menu and start the game but as soon as the intro video loads the game closes. This also happens on movie viewer. I tried multiple protons including latest GE but always the same.
At the previous report I said the intro video crashes the game. Turns out that there was some files stuck even verifying couldn't handle so after uninstalling, removing all the files and reinstalling the game now works out of the box
Not playable at all shortens life when trying to get it to work
PROTON_HIDE_NVIDIA_GPU=0 PROTON_ENABLE_NAVPI=1 %command%
Tried with GE -> GPU driver crashes when loading the new game and with Experimental -> the game only freezes in the same spot and system can be saved by killing it. So this is "the least bugged Bethesda game" as they marketed it?
Failed to initialize dependencies
No matter which Proton, I cannot get further than that pop up at start. I think it's about EAC but it doesn't say anything more. EAC Runtime is installed
env --unset=SDL_VIDEODRIVER DXVK_ASYNC=1 %command%
The launch options fixed the EAC "Failed to Initialize Dependencies" message. I found them from some Elden Ring discussion about the same thing
Failed to initialize dependencies
unset SDL_DYNAMIC_API; QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb %command% --enable-avpro-in-proton
With Any Proton or Proton GE
unset SDL_DYNAMIC_API; unset SDL_VIDEODRIVER; QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb %command% --enable-avpro-in-proton
unsetting SDL_VIDEODRIVER was the thing missing. Now it starts again (for now at least)
