Not often and usually corrects itself quickly.
Occasional stutter or frame drop, generally doesn't hinder gameplay.
Launcher says some things are out of date. Hit continue and ignore the messages.
Opting into the bypass launcher beta is easy enough to do, but being required to host may turn some people off.
Go to betas tab in properties and set it to: "temporary_launcher_workaround - Bypass Launcher"

Alt-tabbing and joining another lobby will consistently crash the game. You will have to host for the smoothest experience.

I did not notice any difference in peformance switching between native and any of the proton versions.
Unfortunate coming back to this game on the Steam Deck. Used to be able to enjoy this game with a relatively smooth experience and quick enough load times, but now it's a mess.
