Runs perfectly as far as I can tell. Only small issue is the lack of 16:10 resolution support, so games can't fill the full screen height.
Immediately brings up Wine credits dialog box and a Capcom crash report dialog. Manually switching to the game window lets you see the front end and select options. Trying to go into the arcade to play a game causes title to hang.
Works very well on Steam Deck. I had a few initial frame drops on first run, but hasn't happened again, so maybe caching something.
Letterboxes to 16:9, which means borders all around the screen with the 4:3 games. Would be nice if it supported the full height of 16:10.
Runs quite hot on Steam Deck for some reason. Fan kicks in more than many other games, and battery estimate is relatively low. Seems to be pushing the CPU a bit hard (more than you'd expect for emulation of these systems).
Generally works very well on Steam Deck, however, frequent long pauses during gameplay make the game difficult to play.
Performance generally good, but frequent 1-2 second pauses where display is frozen but game appears to keep running in the background. Audio also stops during these freezes.
Missing background objects, notably the player's house was completely absent.
Runs well, reducing quality to mid seems to lock to 60fps. For me, the player's house is missing, however. This doesn't affect functionality, but is a graphical issue.
Played through the entire game on Steam Deck, using joypad controls. Touch screen also works. Native Linux version works perfectly.
Removed unsupported audio files to fix music.
No music by default
With the version of Proton 9 now selected by Steam, the game no longer crashes in the intro cinematic. However, it is still missing all music.
To fix this, remove or rename this folder in the install directory:
Tempest 4000\Win7-8\Assets\Sounds\Tracks_xwma
This will force the game to use ADPCM music tracks, which will work fine. You should use the standard (not Windows 10) version when launching. Game seems to run perfectly after this change.
