Had to edit ini file to raise texture quality, as ingame menu only let me set it to medium for some reason.
Requires windows version with proton to play with windows friends, but DO NOT SIGN UP FOR SHIFT! Dismiss dialogue to sign up for SHiFT, you can still play multiplayer without it, and signing up causes a never-ending loop at startup. In fairness I have seen this happen to a friend on Windows too.
Just for fun I tried to see if I could force Physx on by editing the ini, despite having an AMD card. Unfortunately it didn't work.
Works great with good performance. Don't remember experiencing a single crash.
Some water shaders render incorrectly.
It's playable, but only on a powerful PC on low settings.
Game stutters on all but lowest graphics settings
I also tried the 'linbeta' opt-in beta, performance was better, but there was a constant audio crackling that made the game unplayable.
Flawless in-game, doesn't always start first time.
Can take one or two attempts to start the game, but once in it never crashed once.
Even ran perfectly with Ziggy's Hardcore mod installed, which changes a lot of the content.
Seems to work very well, but I have a powerful machine.
Had some issues with 'clicking through' the menus that overlay the game screen, but I don't know if this is a linux thing or just the game itself.
Other than the crashes the game runs well. Max settings at 4K is no problem for my machine.
Crashes every few missions with an error message from Wine. Have tried forcing it to use DX9 with launch option as recommended here but no change. I've noticed that the crashes always seem to happen on a checkpoint, and I wonder if they are related to the game saving.
Tried both with native and windows versions with proton 6.3-4, poor and jittery framerate despite an i9 and Radeon VII
Occasional audio popping
Poor performance despite a powerful rig
Works fine on Proton 4 and 5, won't start on 6
Poor performance given my specs, but playable.
Water does not render, but other than that runs perfectly.
