Too much degradation performance wise. Runs fantastic on windows 1440p on ultra
1440p was extremely degraded. 1080p was maybe 10-15 fps so still unplayable
Game launched with newer proton but with a significant delay. As it did in the beta- the chat issue also persisted, where it could not connect to the server showed
Push these developers and/or proton to improve this
Crashes mess with the immersion of the story, especially if it happens during a cutscene and have to watch it twice
Game would freeze about every half hour
The game ran at 20-30 fps consistently except for the occasional crashes
Used Proton-5.9-GE-6-ST and had to set the launch options in steam to
VKD3D_FEATURE_LEVEL=12_0 wine ds.exe
Then it ran as detailed in this report
Game worked flawlessly until latest update
Will not even launch now on manjaro, open to suggestions
Game crashed and would not load after update: I followed the instructions here and it worked flawlessly again:
Occasional crashes occurred after extended periods of time. The steam overlay sometimes would cause input issues making necessary to close and re open the game
After applying the fix(https://www.reddit.com/r/DivinityOriginalSin/comments/alrg6u/divinity_original_sin_2_de_on_linux_with/) the game ran great, only issues were crashes and odd issues with the steam overlay. If you were set to offline in steam you could not join a multiplayer match(which i believe is intended). Joining multiplayer matches took a little longer than windows PCs but once you are able to join it works great
PROTON_NO_ESYNC=1 PROTON_NO_FSYNC=1 %command%
(not sure if truly needed but increases battery life path will change if on SD) Edited: /home/deck/.steam/steam/steam apps/common/Rift breaker/conf/intial_config_win.cfg to switch the value for render system to dx11
Force dx11 in config files
Without the sync launch arguments you will experience random freezes that force you to quit the game
As I said Out of the box it refuses to run stable on the deck- odd as the demo ran fantastic out of the box, no tinkering
