Tinker Steps:Switch to experimental
Launching the game from Steam without compatibility didn't work for me: the intro menu (language selection) didn't load its text, and the game was unresponsive to any input.
Forcing it into Proton (Experimental) made the game run flawlessly. I was also able to paste text into fields from my X clipboard.

Performance:Slight Performance Problems
Significant FPS drops a larger than usual swarm (boss + its mobs + swarm), but not very large. Lasted only about 5 seconds and after a few seconds for about another 5 seconds.

Launching directly without forcing Proton had the game launching and crashing before it even created a window. With Proton everything worked perfectly.
