MSAA Broken, evident on Windows sometimes too
Specific to playing the game in Ultrawide resolutions, not a problem when running standard 16:9
Game freezes when initialising internet connection occasionally on boot
To get ultrawide to work correctly you must run in Windowed mode and locate the AC.ini file inside the compatdata folder, you can edit the resolution values to be your ultrawide resolution, set windowing mode to 0 for windowed mode.
Mostly Perfect. - EndeavourOS xfce - nvidia
In terms of pure gameplay its wonderful sometimes the menus can run at sub 10fps but really isn't a huge issue. The rest of the game runs perfectly and seems to run better than on windows when using Vulkan (I reccomend vulkan I lost 50fps using OpenGL).
It just damn works.
Make sure to select Proton - Experimental OR Proton GE 7 or above. Also make sure Proton EasyAntiCheat is installed BEFORE installing the game.
Far Cry 4 - EndeavourOS - xfce - proton experimental - no adjustments
The game first booted up by downloading Uplay, i signed in and the first time is just crashed I tried again and it worked everytime after that. The game runs great I get around 80-144fps on Ultra settings (1080p). One issue I noticed was that Vsync does not work at all! kinda a bummer but running at high fps usually eliminates that. If you have freesync or gsync working I suggest you rely on that for the game. Other than that great experience!
ran with proton experimental, no tinkering or changes required. Game booted to initial login/launch screen, upon launching anti-cheat pop up says its starting, game starts, shaders compile and then into main menu, I played a full match with no issues whatsoever.
It works - EndeavourOS/Arch
I ran the game in Proton Experimental and in the Native version. Both work flawlessly without issues. I mainly ran Native but if you experience fps caps or other windowing problems you can also try the proton version.
