The further into the game you get the more it seems to struggle, I believe this is on the game itself.
With 0 dev support, I don't see the bugs getting ironed out, but for the most part it runs totally fine with proton.
Toggling fullscreen resulted in it not returning to true fullscreen, and it didn't save my resolution setting on reloading the game.
Many buttons are hard to click or seem to have input lag.
Works out of the Box
Installed, luanched, and played with no problems with an Xbone controller and keyboard.
Computer cursor de-synced with on-screen cursor when windowed. Fine in fullscreen.
Psychonauts uses its own input system for controllers, Steams input system will break this. Keyboard/controller bindings will be BROKEN until you disable "Steam Input Per-Game" (I also disabled "Use BPM Overlay" and "Steam Overlay." Good precaution for older games.) Right click on Psychonauts and select "Properties," they're in there. Modern Xbox360/One controllers have 6 axis' on them (2 on each analog stick, 1 on each trigger.) By default Psychonauts assigns the camera to the triggers; This is typical of older games. Once you've done the above, go into the control settings, and while holding both triggers exactly HALFWAY down (This is the 'neutral' position for the triggers,) select "Look Up, Look Down" and "Look Left, Look Right" and push the analog stick to assign it to the axis you want. With Steam Input disabled the bindings will save permanently.
