With the water bug and the occasional slow downs, I would suspect some users would get quite frustrated.
Some areas with clear water, especially on the valguero map, don't display a water texture. You just see floating fish, Once you drop down into it and go under the water effect is there. Possibly a transparency issue.
When changing settings, the games frame rate will occasionally drastically drop somewhere below 25. Occasionally the same issue occurs with general play after a few hours. A game restart is needed once this occurs.
You can not play on any official servers, but you will find a lot of non-BattleEye private servers with open doors. These servers are typically less grindy and more friendly but your mileage may vary when searching.
Ark seems to crash with the a error message relating to unable to allocate memory. This issue is completely solved by using one of TK-Glitch Kernel builds . In my case 5.5.2-11linux-tkg-pds-zen2, If your on Ryzen I would recommend this kernel. https://github.com/Tk-Glitch/PKGBUILDS/wiki/linux-tkg If your on Arch or Manjaro, you can find it in the chaotic aur pre-built, https://lonewolf.pedrohlc.com/chaotic-aur/
Battleye still currently does not work. If your using a Amd Navi Card, I would Recommend running Mesa 20 with llvm 11, can be found in the chaotic aur as-well as mesa-git with llvm-libs-minimal git as a dependency. Adding the launch options RADV_PERFTEST=aco %COMMAND% also yields major improvements.
- To get around the unable to allocate memory error, I have only found that switching to a TKG-PDS Kernel Build solves the issue.
- For AMD Navi (5600, 5600XT, 5700, 5700XT) users I Recommend upgrading the following.
- Linux Kernel 5.5
- Mesa 20 with LLVM 11
- Adding "RADV_PERFTEST=aco %COMMAND%" to the games launch options, removes most of the stuttering.
- Occasionally, your frames may temporarily drop down into the teens. Usually after a couple minutes, it will return to normal. It has been become less frequent with the latest Proton version.
- Changing settings can sometimes cause your frames to drop into the teens, Most of the time I need a restart. It doesn't happen every time, just occasionally.
- Battleye still does not work. You can still play single player or join unofficial non Battleye servers. *Overall my performance is higher under Proton than Windows 10. *If you are on Arch based Distro such as Manjaro, you can find mesa-git, lib32-mesa-git, llvm-libs-minimal-git, lib32-llvm-libs-minimal-git, and TKG PDS Kernel builds in the chaotic-aur, https://lonewolf.pedrohlc.com/chaotic-aur/

Chaotic-AUR https://lonewolf.pedrohlc.com/chaotic-aur/
Needs windows fonts for Social Club Launcher. Everything else works great with no tweaks.
Performance wise, I get 80 to 120 FPS, which is surprisingly better than I had on Windows 10. You have to disable Esync to play online. If you minimize the game while using a controller L2 becomes reverse and aim at the same time, A becomes record and run at the same time. If you don't minimize the game however, it works fine. Because of this I give it a Silver rating.
proton-tkg-git 5.8.r0.g7d92cd31-1
If you get a nvapi error or it just crashes
- Install protontricks
- protontricks --gui
- Select the Game -> default wineprefix -> run winecfg
- Libraries -> New override for library-> nvapi -> Add
- Libraries -> New override for library-> nvapi64 -> Add
- Libraries -> Existing Overrides-> nvapi -> Edit -> Disable
- Libraries -> Existing Overrides-> nvapi64 -> Edit -> Disable
For Arch based Distros, such as Manjaro, the recommended way to obtain Proton-tkg is through the chaotic-aur repo. This helps ensure you have everything and it gets updated with your system. https://lonewolf.pedrohlc.com/chaotic-aur/
The Game runs perfectly after a small tweak. The game currently needs a 64bit copy of mprapi.dll from a Windows 7 Install placed in the same folder as shootergame.exe and mprapi needs to be set to native in winecfg. Which solves the following issue, "wine: Call from 0x7b45317c to unimplemented function mprapi.dll.MprConfigServerConnect, aborting".
Works perfect out of the box with no tweaks. Average 60 FPS with lows around 55 FPS and highs of around 75 FPS
