I cant recommend the game due to the missing cutscenes, the cutscenes that are missing are quite vital to the story as a whole.
During the main gameplay audio works perfectly, however during cutscenes there's no audio at all, only subtitles.
No main cinematic cutscenes at all, the video "Plays" but you don't see anything and there's no audio during the cinematic. Pressing escape does allow you to skip the cinematic and continue to the gameplay.
Just an overall review, the game works absolutely beautifully using Proton 5.13-6, the in-game gameplay is fantastic and the game runs smoothly without any hiccups with performance loss or any other technical issues, no crashing either.
Currently running this game on Proton 6.3-6 and it works perfectly right out the box, no tweaking needed at all.
Game works fantastic, I did however get a weird glitch white Alt+Tabbing my way out the game where I couldn't get back into it. That being said it could have been my OS and not related to the game. Overall I'd give this game a 10/10 in terms of Proton compatibility.
Game works great after setting game to use Proton 5.0-10
This is my second report of this game, this time I'm using ElementaryOS 6.
Initially the game would not launch and I had to roll back the proton compatibility down to 5.0-10 in order for it to work, when I did that the game works flawlessly, no issues and runs like native :)
Just works like native
No tinkering needed here, I played with all the default settings, launched the game and it works a treat.
Game works flawlessly out the box, there's a slight issue while switching tabs then back again, but other than that its perfect.
There seems to be an issue where if you Alt+Tab to another window then come back I experience a frame drop to sub 10 FPS. Switching tabs then back again seems to correct the issue.
Just works great, installer is a little fiddly for me but when the game launches its perfect. Takes a second for the shaders to compile.
During the install Heroic gets a launcher for Palia thats external, the licence agreement dissapears but I was able to make it re-appear by making the window bigger, then it was a slight fiddle to accept the licence agreement - other than this the game itself works perfectly!
Expand the installer window to see licence agreement text so that you can scroll down and accept. Other than this enjoy this game that works beautifully on Linux!
I've tried running this on different distributions with no luck previously. If you use Nobara you will have a perfect experience.
I had one crash while playing, admittedly I was tinkering with graphical settings and changing between Fullscreen and Windowed modes to test performance. Haven't had a crash since.
Honestly, this game is working right out the box. I installed Nobara Linux, launched the native steam (Note not using Flatpak) and installed Easy Anti Cheat Services. Installed the game and ran proton with Experimental. Works as if its native, no stuttering, no laggy'ness no noticeable input delay or anything of the sorts.
I can genuinely tell you this game runs like a dream on Nobara 37.
In conclusion I've tried playing this game in both Windowed and Full screen, both work flawlessly. I have the highest graphical settings with no issues/glitches/artifacting.
I know there are a lot of people having issues with GLIBC and its versioning. I cant 100% confirm why it works flawlessly on Nobara but it does. Just install the game, install Easy Anti Cheat Runtime on Steam and set the game to run on Proton Experimental and it plays as if its native.
Runs like native.
Rotwood works perfectly on Proton. Just install and play with all the defaults and it works perfectly.
Demo does not launch at all.
Similarly to others, game just does not launch. You click play but nothing happens. Tried different Proton versions with no success.
mangohud %command%
Tribes of Midgard works wonderfully on my EndeavourOS with Zen Kernel, I could even go as far as saying it works so well you'd think its a native game.
I have not tried to use other Proton versions, I've just used the default Proton Experimental and it just worked without any issues.
The game works out of the box on VanillaOS with GE-Proton7-53. No additional steps or tinkering needed.
Runs perfectly with no tinkering. Just install and enjoy some dungeon crawling.
The only thing worth noting is that on first launch it seems the shaders are compiling. It runs at like 5fps and I just give it 10 seconds and it comes right. Sometimes I will hit escape and go back and its perfect.
Game runs really well and worth playing!
Works perfectly!
Honestly not much to say here. Just install and play. Game's operformance is perfect if not beyond Windows and I've had no issues whatsoever.
