Used proton GE instead of the one advised by steam.
Great experience so far, fps goes from 40ish to 55-60 depending on what you look at, or where you are.
Text size by default was too small for my convenience. Can't say yet about crashing as I did not had any in 1 to 2 hrs playtime.

Change to DX11, and every graphical settings to "normal", and "texture quality" on high
Secondary Launcher Problem:Yes
Rockstar Launcher stayed visible after starting the game, had to check "reduce when playing a game" in the settings of the launcher.
Was able to play correctly in both desktop and gaming mode Game and Launcher installed on a SD card, works very well, and loading time are great 60fps almost all the time at 1280x800px resolution.
