I may not have the best computer ever, but genuinely American Truck Simulator runs better through Proton than the native client.

Sometimes certain Keybinds wouldn't actually bind, but other times they would.
Native I could only run at medium settings, and get slowdown, but through Proton, I can be on high with no noticeable slowdown.
It works with standard Proton, but with Proton-GE + "PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1" it runs at it's best.
I used PROTON_USE_WINED3D11 with Proton-6.13-GE-1, and the game works beautifully.

Yes, especially with D1X rebirth.
This is a classic game, great if you haven't played it, but besides that, it plays, and runs perfectly, if you want more of an experience than you can install D1X rebirth, and use that too! D1X rebirth gives you more graphics options to play and tinker with.
It runs great, even I may dare say, better than Windows (at least on my Hardware)
It used to run perfectly without anti-cheat.
After they added Anti-Cheat, you may be able to view the menu but it gives an error, "Anti-Cheat not initialized."
Opens menu, can't click "Fly now!"
Used Proton 6.3-4; Launch options: "PROTON_USE_DXVK=1 %command%"; Fonts weren't glitchy or anything, just the wrong font everywhere. Menus were working, the aircraft preview was visible; I could change to any aircraft I wanted.
While on any menu other than the "Free Flight" menu, everything was perfectly fine. But in the Free Flight menu, everything turned black. Was able to play though...
To be honest, it runs better on Linux better than my computer with Windows 10! Also, in my old review, the reason I couldn't launch it is because I didn't have a vulkan driver installed...
It worked all in all, but was slow overall, not sure if it was my hardware, or just Proton. I had no problems with almost anything, just the fact that overall, it was just slow. Works great given everthing else though!

Fullscreen is just a black window, you need to go into swkotor.ini, and change the line "Fullscreen=1" to "Fullscreen=0", and add this line "AllowWindowedMode=1" underneath it. Then you will be in windowed mode, but at least the game is playable
The Override folder works, I don't know why, but I didn't think it was going to work. I installed the HD Texture packs into the override folder, and it works perfectly!
I used Glorius Eggroll's Proton-6.12-GE-1, the latest release at the time of writing this. I also used the launch option "PROTON_USE_DXVK=1 %command%". I had used PROTON_USE_WINED3D11=1, but it had much more slowdown than I had expected, DXVK is better overall.
I had tested this game with numerous Proton-GE versions, and they all worked, but I have had the most success with Proton-6.12-GE-1, Proton-6.8-GE-2, and Proton-5.8-GE-1.
It runs perfectly both Online, and Locally
Played with a few of my friends, and it ran perfectly fine!
