The game always whats to run Uplay but Uplay is deactiveted and never finds a connection. So, you need to install Ubisoft Connect (the new launcher) first via wine. Download it from: https://ubisoftconnect.com/en-US/ Run it with wine and choose the directory where it should be installed, then remove the content of the directory SteamLibrary/steamapps/compatdata/33230/pfx/drive_c/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft Game Launcher and paste the content of the downloaded Ubisoft Game Launcher.
Great game with the Italians Renassance locations :)
Once the game is fully loaded and you start to play it, all works well. Possible sound and video stutterings during load time.

Maybe it's my settings but the game is unplayable for me as it is now. I'm sure that with a different setup the game works because I have played it some time ago in some way.

In my previous post I wrote that I had problems with the game but now with my new software updates they are all gone and the game plays well
If you run the game natively in linux there is no audio.
If you run the game natively in linux the audio is missing, but if you start the game with Proton Experimental there are no issues.
The game works out of the box with Proton Experimental

With only 8 Gb of RAM the sound stutters when there are transitioning scenes
I've added a command line option to Proton Experimental because after the first start of the game I experienced a black screen when trying to start the game again.
