Works out of the box and shows proper controller glyphs.
Swapped buttons to match the Nintendo Switch version.
7W TDP for 90 FPS on OLED model - 5 to 6 hours of projected playtime
This game might as well be verified, it works perfectly out of the box and shows proper controller glyphs. The initial load after choosing a savefile might be a bit slow with an active TDP limit, but you can set it to 15W for the initial load and set it back to 7W for 90 FPS or 6W for 60 FPS. Changes to the controls I've made:
- Swapped B and X (Attack and Interact)
- Mapped Right Bumper on L1 (Reset Camera)
- Mapped Y on L2 (Bubble Shot)
- Mapped Right Stick Click on R1 (First Person Mode)

Limit Framerate
Most button prompts are displayed as white boxes
The game installs, launches and plays fine, however, when playing with the Steam Deck's built in controller the game will mostly show white boxes as controller glyphs, making it difficult to play the game. This can be easily fixed by installing the improved gamepad support mod by Chortos-2: https://gamebanana.com/mods/398211 Since the game renders as many frames as possible the playtime can be extended by limiting the framerate, esp. on the OLED Deck with the 90 Hz display.
Grip Buttons for swapping between palettes, Right Trackpad for mouse and left mouse click, Left Trackpad swipes to switch between chats and moving camera further/closer to character and click to start chatting.
Limited framerate to 30 FPS
Some text can be difficult to read even after setting text size to large
Without tinkering the game starts up just fine but will freeze for several minutes uppon going online, only to be disconnected from the server once it finishes loading. Switching to GE-Proton resolves this issue. I did enable seccurity compatibility mode in the launcher to use the nProtect anticheat. Performance is compareable to last gen consoles, if not a bit better.
Works perfectly out of the box.
Limited refresh rate to 60 Hz (OLED Model)
Since the game is framelocked at 60 FPS it makes sense to limit the refresh rate to 60 Hz on an OLED model Steam Deck to save some battery life. If the game appears to be small you need to enable fullscreen and set the resolution to 1280x720 in the games video options.
