It's a pretty clean install. I had to run on a lower graphics settings, but this might be me not setting up the PC itself correctly
On Windows I run it on the highest graphics settings while on Ubuntu I had to put it to Medium graphics. All the rest was the same. I also got pretty long loading screens on Ubuntu, but that's probably because the Ubuntu setup is on an HDD, while the Windows setup is on SSD (the loading screens are expected for HDD users. I just didn't expect them to be too long)
When I tried playing it in the highest graphics (as I did in the Windows setup), I fell through the ground at the begining of a new area after the loading screen. On medium it didn't happen.
Definitely play this on SSD. The loading screens ruin the immersion
To be completely honest, I didn't try to use mods or multiplayer, so I can't really say if this aspect is working, but other works as intend
I started playing on v2.0. By then, I had to choose Proton Experimental for it to launch. After some time, I started seeing some missing textures. Not sure if a change on the game which actually had a patch around that time or Proton Experimental. Changing to Proton 7.0-5 solved the issue
As mentioned before, I had to force a Proton version and then change again. Maybe it's not needed anymore, but it was needed back when I installed the game
Sometimes when moving the view, the view would jump a bit as if skipping a couple of frames
- Loading screen before the game opens has only audio, with no video and is windowed instead of fullscreen. You can either wait for it to end or just skip by hitting any key and the main menu will pop up in fullscreen
- Only 4:3 aspect ratio actually works. Other aspect ratios would stretch instead of actually naturally fit, but I'm not entirely sure if this is caused by Proton or by the game itself being ancient.

It would on occasion lag a few frames and then go back to normal
You get used to the only consistent bug so far, which is the staging engine duplication. Everything else seem to work fine
Staging with engines may create a new stage with only the engines and it happened exactly once that leaving a craft in orbit, leaving the game and when getting back it was partially uncontrollable. The next day it was fine and I've never encountered this bug again. I don't have a Windows device to check if this is actually just because the game is still in Early Access though
So far it feels like a native app. I have nothing else to add
