The game crashes very often and it quite unplayable.
Micro-stutters and frequents hang-ups.
The game crashes very frequently hindering gameplay. I could not run it for more than an hour straight.
The 'native' version of the game is worse. Force the steam compatibility layer for a better experience, even then it wasn't playable in my case.
The game work quite well out of the box with very minor flaws that are not worth mentioning.
The game works well out of the box with zero tinkering.
The game is a calm surreal experience. The game works great out of the box with some minor frame drops, which are barely noticeable when playing at 24 or 30 fps. I'd advise you to play at 24 fps since that has the look congruent with the intentionally choppy animations. Further, the default night look can be changed in the settings, I'd recommend pushing up the colour a little bit (not too much!). Otherwise, the game plays perfectly well! Have fun!
I opted for Proton GE because that is my go-to for any game, since it mostly works better. The game works perfectly well otherwise too.
The experience is exceptional with the marvelous soundtrack and the, obviously, novel perspective. The game works quite well on Linux with some occasional frame drops that definitely do not break immersion.
One can very easy play Witcher 3 on proton. It runs almost flawlessly.
There were micro-stutters and often hang-ups, especially right after a cutscene. Also, the frame-rate in general was much lower than expected, but still very much playable.
