Initially was opening on wrong monitor and forcefully minimizing but after few configuration changes it finally opens in borderless window on correct monitor, not 100% what was the sequence but changed them until it worked..
odd frame drop here and there but most likely not proton related
had 3 crashes total and those only in creche so probably not proton related
if you experience crash "!status && vkCreateComputePipelines" assert on start up you need to Delete/Rename "Data/PsoCache.pak" = that is for vulcan version. to play in dx11 I had to rename bg3_dx11.exe to bg3.exe (backing up the original)
Works well, minor non proton related hiccups
global reflections on seem to often cause very slow texture load but that's not proton issue, it's the game design it seems.
I use VKD3D_CONFIG=dxr %command% -dx12 Few times the frames dropped to 10fps after starting the game but reboot fixed that and got them back to ~70fps
When tried to switch from default borderless fullscreen to fullscreen the game hang.
Had to run it under GE proton 7-43, works with no issues, no tinkering then
Does not launch. Tried most of the start up options and different versions of proton.
The character freezes in place after fight on high refresh resolutions. Needed to lock the FPS rate to 60fps via xrandr since the refresh rate via game options didn't respect it - it always locked to my native refresh rate. b efore launching the game xrandr --output DisplayPort-2 --mode 2560x1440 --rate 60
That fixes it and game runs with no issues. It's modded with the restored content mod (via workshop)
Had to lock the monitor refresh rate to 60fps via xrandr (and vsync on) to be able to move after battle.
Does not start
Tried most of the tricks and/or solutions to run it in proton 6.3-5 Native works but the units don't render (there's only an icon) and the GPU does not show in the options list.
Initially it opened on second monitor and refused to move to main screen. Even windowing moving maxing was lowering the res and moving back to secondary screen. After lots of fiddling it stayed in main screen but with lower res. Increasing res to native was moving it back to secondary screen. Stretching the window to almost native res (few pixels less) then maxing then exiting and after that full screening finally fixed it and it now starts on main screen fullscreen in native res.
Had to use proton GE 9-10. experimental, 9, and 8 proton version only resulted in black screen on start (no menu)
Hang on the first choice after birth. Had to change to proton 9.0 beta
has to run with proton 4, newer versions crash on accessing load menu
crashes if want to load a game
Crashes when clicking on load or load/save menu
Works with no issues under proton
Native binary segfaults with munmap_chunk(): invalid pointer but proton version runs with no issues
